PROJECT READINESS CHECK

ALIGN FIRST. FIT FOR EXECUTION. READY FOR RESULTS.

Structured readiness for complex digital transformation journeys.

PREPARE FOR THE PATH – NOT JUST THE PEAK.

WHY ACT

Implementation partners come with a structured project approach: Project organization, timelines, methodology, resource logic – everything is prepared.

The customer, on the other hand, is often just getting started: Little to no IT project infrastructure, lack of clarity on roles and responsibilities, resource needs, or decision-making processes.

The result: The two project parties rarely meet at eye level at the kick-off. This creates risks – in alignment, governance, and execution.

The Z-PUNKT Project Readiness Check (PRC) provides a remedy: It uses the providor’s approach as a benchmark and mirrors the customer organization against it.

In this way, gaps are made visible and closed in a targeted manner - and project readiness is established methodically and organizationally.

CHALLENGE

  • Executives and project managers must build a functioning project team in a very short time – often without clear knowledge of obligations, roles, structures, or resource planning.
  • IT projects begin even though decision-making processes, project governance, or role clarity on the customer side are unclear – leading to delays, budget overruns, and friction losses.
  • Implementation partners operate within their daily business, using a standardized project setup – the customer organization is often unfamiliar with this IT project world and cannot keep pace.
  • Project stakeholders often only realize during execution where organizational gaps emerge – too late for an efficient project, as course correction mid-implementation costs both external and internal extra budget.

COSTUMER VALUE

The Project Readiness Check by Z-PUNKT systematically analyzes whether and to what extent the customer organization is ready to execute the project planned by the vendor – structurally, culturally, in terms of personnel and methodical.

The analysis is based on the vendor’s approach: project roles, RACI logic, schedule, resource needs. This approach becomes the benchmark – and the customer’s reality is reflected against it.

A key focus is also on establishing a joint project governance – structured, for example, through an aligned project handbook. It defines collaboration between both parties: scope and timeline, roles, responsibilities, escalation paths, change request management, and decision-making logic.

The result: a structured overview of gaps and corresponding actions – with the goal of synchronizing both sides before the project starts. So the project doesn’t stumble – it runs smoothly.

At the same time, the readiness check reveals where the organization also needs to “rebuild” internally in order to be able to deliver the project in the first place. Large-scale digital projects act as strong drivers of change: employees need to be allocated and relieved, existing routines, silos, and power structures must be questioned, and new forms of process responsibility, collaboration, and leadership must be established.
Z-PUNKT does not understand change management in this context as a communication campaign, but as operational organizational work at the critical pressure points. We help cut off the old and enable the new – so that your organization not only accompanies change, but actively carries it forward.

STRUCTURED PROJECT PREPARATION

For project managers who want to set up their project methodically and solidly.

  • Systematic assessment of project fitness: Four dimensions, 16 sub-dimensions, and over 30 individual indicators
  • Transparent traffic-light logic: Visual representation of required actions at a glance
  • Practical alignment: Based on the actual project structure of the implementation partner – not abstract theory

DERIVATION OF CONCRETE ACTIONS

For executives and project managers who want to close gaps in a targeted way.

  • Structured action clusters: e.g. project governance, role clarification, onboarding and allocation of internal resources, decision-making logic
  • Central alignment on scope & budget: Vendor and customer must share the same view – otherwise, the project is at risk
  • Implementation plan for the project kick-off: Including a binding project handbook as a governance framework
  • Optional implementation support until full project readiness: Z-PUNKT stays on board until everything is in place

SUPPORT FOR THE PROVIDOR

For providers who want to work efficiently with prepared customers.

  • The Readiness Check relieves the provider: project start without fundamental operational discussions.
  • Increased alignment: the provider’s project logic meets a structured customer organization.
  • Faster execution, less friction: clear responsibilities and immediate ability to act from Day 1.

FLEXIBLE SERVICE MODEL

  • INTEGRATED: As complementary support within a Z-PUNKT consulting mandate – billed by effort or available as a flat rate
